Driving FEI

This activity started in 1992 and has grown beyond all expectation.

Currently there are 5 complete teams and more being formed, all, so far, with sec A’s, Sec C’s and welsh part breds. Notably, at the world championships the Templedruid Sec A gelding team of Bart Verdronken, a young Belgian driver with our sec A’s only since 1998, (previously for a very short time only with Shetlands) took the team skills/precision driving phase by storm. Of all the teams in this phase from the 18 countries (most with 3 teams) only 2 went through clear with no faults.
This has grown to the point where at Karlstetten, Austria in August 2003 Templedruid topped the world studs in the first ever world championships for ponies (teams, pairs and singles) having the greatest number through to the world finals from 18 countries competing.

We believe that the FEI driving is one of the greatest tests of skill, pony ability, mental compatibility, endurance, and courage, in the equine world.

Templedruid has combined its very large gene pool and breeding grounds in England with some of the greatest performing drivers in the world with the result that the combination is formidable for Templedruid International on the continent.
